Light theme is unusable

Describe the bug
I think that were using white color whiteout any background for light text. Maybe we should use bright black or similar.

Are you using the gui.theme.lightTheme config option? Could you paste your config, please?
I though yes, but I had it set to false. My fault, sorry.
